Owner Operators and small trucking companies are everywhere, and need assistance in finding them good paying freight. Sometimes it is not cost effective for them to hire someone full time to man the office 40 hours a week to find the loads needed which may only require a few short hours each week.
Many owner operators are working to find their own loads, but they do not have the time to locate direct manufacturers, so they find their loads on loadboards. They also do not have the luxury of watching the loadboards closely for the best paying loads, so they may be waiting until they are unloaded to find their next load, which then puts them in "got to have a load right now" mode, forcing them to take lower paying freight.
As an Independent Dispatcher you will work directly with owner operators and small trucking companies to be an advocate for them finding the best paying loads. You will be the one contacting direct manufacturers, and when you do need to use the loadboards to look for freight, you will be able to stay ahead of the truck and "shop" for the best paying freight. You can be a true asset to the owner operator, by keeping them moving. Drivers do not like to sit and wait for freight. As soon as you find them a load and know when the drop off date and time, you will begin finding them another load.
